Catholic Parishes Campaign
“You may think the money from the CPC leaves us and provides no benefits to St. Theresa Parish,” writes Deacon Dave Seibert, pastoral life coordinator at the Evansville parish.
“The truth is we receive many direct benefits in return for our pledges. A portion of the retirement fund for our teachers and other employees is paid through CPC. Clergy retirement and health benefits are provided including Father John.
“The Catholic Schools office advises our school and coordinates academic programs. The continued training of deacons and the formation of new deacons comes from CPC.
“The Message, the diocesan communications office, keeps us informed of events and important information in the diocese and the Church throughout the world. The Office of Catechesis offers training to our catechists and supports the formation of religion teachers and youth programs. The Office of Worship regularly provides information to help our liturgical celebrations throughout the year.
“Although invisible at times there are many ways the diocesan offices work directly with our parish. So I ask that during this coming week you prayerfully consider how you might best support this important campaign.”

Father Ron Zgunda, pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Princeton, and Blessed Sacrament Parish, Oakland City, was ordained to the priesthood May 6, 1977.
