Work At St. Nicholas

 St. Nicholas Parish in Santa Claus will celebrate it first Mass in a redesigned, remodeled Sanctuary on Sept. 14.

 As part of the redesign, parish volunteers built a cross by hand, then attached the corpus. The wooden crucifix is now suspended over the altar.

 A time capsule was also prepared for insertion into the cross. Items included a copy of Sept. 27, 2013 issue of The Message which included the publication of the decree that created a new parish through the merger of St. Nicholas with St. Joseph Parish in Dale and Mary, Help of Christians Parish in Mariah Hill. The merger takes effect July 1, 2015.
